Announcing a collaboration between Big Ditch and Young Lion Brewing Companies: Strong Alone Double IPA and Better Together New England-style IPA.

After 2020, Young Lion and Big Ditch were inspired by how “strong alone” our fellow breweries were and how (through supporting each other) we were “better together.”

Big Ditch’s “Strong Alone” & Young Lion’s “Better Together” collab beers are both the high quality, approachable beers you are accustomed to from each brewery. But for fun, please consider blending these beers in a glass for something completely new. Because at the end of a long year, we know we are “strong alone, but better together.”

Big Ditch's "Strong Alone" is a double IPA coming in at 8.5% ABV to blend well with Young Lion's “Better Together.” Featuring Strata, Simcoe, and Vic Secret hops, this beer features flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, and passion fruit.

Young Lion kept the ABV of their beer low at 5.5 to blend well Big Ditch’s “Strong Alone.” Better Together is a hazy, New England IPA brewed with pale malt, oat malt, wheat, and flaked oats. We used some of our rare “Bruce” hops through the brewing process. This famous New Zealand blend of hops consists of Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Pacifica, and Pacific Jade to give this beer notes of gooseberry, citrus, and tropical fruits.

Schedule:

Both beers will be on sale at retailers throughout the Buffalo and Rochester region, as well as at our respective tap rooms on Friday 6/18.

On Friday at 4pm, tune in to our social channels (FB, IG) for a streaming video of our owners and brewers (Jen, Matt, Phil, and Corey) discussing our thoughts on the collab and the beers!

Then, Big Ditch and Young Lion will be doing tap takeovers featuring these collaboration beers and other beers of ours at two of our mutual favorite accounts: Butera's Craft Beer & Craft Pizzas in Hamburg on 6/23 and The Playhouse // Swillburger in Rochester on 6/24. Please join us to talk shop with our staff and taste the beers yourselves!
